Apr 12, 2007 Abstract. Accelerated oxidation of copper under the influence of a molten corrosion product is reviewed with an emphasis on the CuBi 2 O 3 system. Fast and super-fast stages of the accelerated copper oxidation are considered. Mechanisms of fast and super-fast stages of the accelerated copper oxidation on the copper oxidation was found to be outward diffusion of copper in Cu 2 O. There have been only a few studies for the oxidation of copper in atmospheres containing water vapor.
